## Executive Summary

Honeylabs event volume across the 25 watched ASNs fell to 15,118 from 17,953 the prior week, a drop of 15.8 percent. Six providers produced events. Nineteen returned nothing, against 15 quiet providers last week. The active set narrowed while the volume inside it held near recent levels.

Sponge recorded 3,387,874 sessions in the top-20 source-IP buckets per ASN, against 3,221,993 last week. That Sponge figure counts every stored session for a provider's busiest sources, not the week alone, so the 5.1 percent rise reflects accumulated history rather than a weekly burst. The Honeylabs and Censys figures both use the seven-day window from 2026-10-06 to 2026-10-13.

Three providers moved against the trend. PROTON66 (AS198953) rose to 1,989 events from 1,187, a gain of 67.6 percent, from three source IPs in Russia. PROSPERO-AS (AS200593) added 7,104 Sponge sessions to reach 16,480, a gain of 75.8 percent, and shifted its Censys top port from 22 to 443. HOSTKEY-AS (AS57043) went the other way and returned no events at all, down from 142 last week.

## By the Numbers

Sponge session counts sum the top-20 source-IP buckets per ASN, the same method in both weeks. Event counts come from Honeylabs `asn_enrich.total_events`. The top port comes from the Censys per-ASN port aggregate, which counts every service on matching hosts. The change column follows event volume when a provider reported events in either week, and Sponge sessions otherwise.

## Per-Provider Detail

### AS51396 (PFCLOUD, Pfcloud UG)

Pfcloud carried 12,260 Honeylabs events, down 17.2 percent from 14,810, and remains the largest event source in the watch set. Its Sponge total rose to 1,230,189 from 1,154,609. Fifty source IPs produced the events, spread across the Netherlands, Germany, the UAE, and Ukraine. The 204.76.203.0/24 subnet supplies four of the ten busiest sources, and 204.76.203.231 alone logged 5,646 events.

The target list changed shape this week. Port 25565, the Minecraft default, now leads the Honeylabs port list, ahead of 80, 8080, 81, 8081, 443, and 5555. Sponge shows the same drift: port 25565 carries 13,614 sessions in the top-20 set. Sponge still leads with port 22 at 501,393 sessions and port 80 at 294,299, then 8088, 8080, 5900 VNC, and 23 Telnet. The mix pairs SSH and VNC brute force with web scanning and game-server probing.

Censys sees only 2,336 services on Pfcloud hosts, led by port 22 at 901 and port 80 at 386. GreyNoise marks 204.76.203.195 and 45.135.193.193 as malicious scanners tagged Open Proxy Scanner, and 204.76.203.231 and 204.76.203.219 as suspicious. Three of the enriched IPs (176.65.149.198, 204.76.203.4, and 45.135.193.193) run OpenSSH 9.6p1 on port 22. One host, 94.183.174.99, exposes no service to Censys at all and acts as a scan-only node.

The dominant scanner user agent is a Chrome 90 Edge build at 814 events. Behind it sit short string agents that mark automated tooling: `0day` at 54, `libredtail-http` at 49, `Mozilla/5.0 zgrab/0.x` at 35, and `python-requests/2.31.0` at 20.

### AS198953 (PROTON66)

Proton66 raised its event count to 1,989 from 1,187, a gain of 67.6 percent. Three source IPs account for all of it, and all three sit in Russia. Port 3389 RDP leads the target list, then MSSQL port 1433, NTP 123, and a run of low and non-standard ports (90, 303, 60, 1234, 400, 1122).

The busiest source, 176.120.22.61, logged 1,727 events and also appears in Sponge with 11,053 sessions. Its partner 193.143.1.66 logged 252 events. Sponge shows a wider footprint: 37.77.150.67 carries 102,632 sessions, but that IP produced no honeypot events. Sponge ports center on remote access, led by 22 at 2,434 sessions, then custom SSH ports 22222 and 2222, port 443, and port 5405.

Censys records only 32 services on Proton66 hosts, which is small against the provider's 129,835 Sponge sessions. Port 443 leads at eight services, then 80 at seven, then 993 IMAPS, 3389, and 5985 WinRM.

### AS51852 (PLI-AS)

PLI-AS logged 534 events from six source IPs, down 13.6 percent from 618. Every source resolves to Switzerland. The target list is SIP: ports 5063, 5060, 5061, 5064, 5062, and 5065 lead, then 1723 PPTP, 8085, 1111, and 20000. One IP, 190.211.252.4, produced 510 of the 534 events.

Sponge shows the same provider scanning telnet and SSH at scale. Port 23 carries 35,136 sessions and port 22 carries 27,596, ahead of SIP 5060 at 7,068, port 443 at 5,064, and Postgres 5432 at 4,382. The top Sponge source, 190.211.255.210, logged 34,911 sessions.

Censys shows a broad hosting base on 9,488 services. Port 443 leads at 4,973, then 22 at 4,331, SNMP 161 at 3,622, and 80 at 3,568. GreyNoise marks the busiest source, 190.211.252.4, as suspicious.

### AS200593 (PROSPERO-AS)

PROSPERO-AS added 7,104 Sponge sessions, reaching 16,480 from 9,376, a rise of 75.8 percent. Event volume fell in the same window, to 218 from 992. The three event sources sit in Turkmenistan and Russia. Port 3401 leads the target list, then 5000, 14000, 13389, 13000, 12000, 4321, and 33333.

The event traffic carries a game-server signature. The FiveM-Public-Metadata/1.0 user agent accounts for 36 events, and all 23 captured paths on this provider request `/info.json`, the metadata endpoint that FiveM and similar game servers expose. The 91.202.233.27 source produced 180 events and 2,233 Sponge sessions.

Censys shows 30 services on PROSPERO hosts, led by 443 at ten and 80 at five. The provider's top port moved from 22 last week to 443 this week, which fits new web services on the block rather than a change in targeting. Sponge ports lead with 3389 RDP at 851 sessions, then 443, 80, and a cluster of alternate HTTPS ports (9443, 4433, 4443, 8443).

### AS14956 (ROUTERHOSTING, RouterHosting LLC)

RouterHosting logged 102 events from 13 source IPs, down 29.7 percent from 145. Sources spread across Australia, the United States, and the UAE. The target list is a data-service sweep: Redis 6379 leads, then SMB 445, Postgres 5432, MongoDB 27017, Elasticsearch 9200, and 19999, 8060, 18082, 5002, and 8070.

This provider added the most new source IPs of any in the set at 11, including 104.194.154.216, 144.172.64.19, and 167.88.173.114. The scanner user agent `zern-scanner (+https://zern.io)` accounts for 14 events.

Censys records 26,163 services on RouterHosting hosts. Port 22 leads at 16,269, then 443 at 9,084, 80 at 8,160, RDP 3389 at 7,095, and WinRM 5985 at 1,335. The Windows remote-management ports pair with the SMB and Elasticsearch targets in the event data.

### AS138915 (KAOPU-HK, Kaopu Cloud HK Limited)

Kaopu Cloud HK holds the largest Sponge footprint at 1,699,680 sessions, up 4.9 percent. Two sources drive it: 38.54.2.209 at 1,211,464 sessions and 38.54.2.232 at 302,581. The provider returned no Honeylabs events for the second week running.

Sponge ports mix web traffic with local-network discovery. Port 80 leads at 324,668 sessions, then NTP 123 at 318,020 and 443 at 220,075. Ports 1900 SSDP, 5355 LLMNR, 137 NetBIOS, 5353 mDNS, and 5678 follow, which shows discovery protocols filling the session store beside the web hits.

Censys records 10,790 services, led by port 22 at 5,680, then a tight block of high ports near 32080, 43080, 40003, 40801, and 40803 at roughly 2,150 services each. That block fits a uniform service deployed across many hosts.

## Infrastructure Correlation

Ten IPs went to Censys. The host documents show shared infrastructure inside PFCLOUD. Four of the ten sit in 204.76.203.0/24, and one host, 94.183.174.99, exposes no service at all, so it scans without hosting anything Censys can reach. Three PFCLOUD IPs run the same SSH build, OpenSSH 9.6p1 on port 22.

Cross-provider reuse shows in the fingerprints. The AKIN fingerprint `b11cdn091_0005001f_70058852_xff63` appears on two PFCLOUD IPs, 204.76.203.219 and 204.76.203.237. One JA4, `t13i251000_b78ed14e2fd0_ab7e3b40a677`, appeared last week on PROSPERO and returns this week on 172.86.118.127 in ROUTERHOSTING, which points to a shared toolset across two providers.

FLOKINET produced a new request signature. The single active source, 185.100.87.136, carries a new JA4 (`t13i1909h2_9dc949149365_97f8aa674fd9`), a new HASSH (`e54ef3ec27fe1fea7ab64d3fa05359fd`), and a matching AKIN fingerprint. Its requests hit port 2222, then 8443 with `/api/checkin`, and 443 with `/images/transparentpix.gif`. Both paths serve check-in and tracking roles on one host.

## Fleet Observations

The fleet held near last week's shape. Censys matched 265,275 hosts against 270,102, a drop of 1.8 percent. The top-20 service buckets sum to 545,064 against 556,774.

Port shares barely moved. Port 22 leads at 35.54 percent against 35.83. Port 443 sits at 22.78 against 22.42, and port 80 sits at 15.42 against 15.03. The two sides of the web pair each gained about a third of a point, the largest move in the port set. Port 2096, a common Censys scan port, holds 5.42 percent.

The protocol mix shifted toward VNC. VNC rose to 6.13 percent from 5.09, and UNKNOWN rose to 7.10 from 6.68. HTTP fell to 50.28 from 51.12, and SSH fell to 25.21 from 25.49. The VNC move adds one point of remote-desktop exposure to the fleet and matches the VNC sessions on Pfcloud's Sponge traffic.

Software shares moved by less than a point each. OpenSSH rose to 37.74 percent from 37.31, and nginx fell to 27.57 from 28.20. Ghost, Caddy, and Express held within a tenth of a point. Linux covers 93.32 percent of hosts with an operating system, and Windows holds at 3.75.

Certificate issuers concentrate on Let's Encrypt intermediates. YE2 holds 20.71 percent and YE1 holds 20.37, both up about a point. The `invalid2.invalid` placeholder holds 11.59 percent, which marks certificates with an unparseable issuer name.

## IoCs and Detection Guidance

Thirty-one new IPs appeared this week and 44 dropped off, drawn from Sponge top sources, Honeylabs enrichment, and the event sample. ROUTERHOSTING added the most at 11, then PFCLOUD at 11, then AUROLOGIC, PLI-AS, KAOPU, and PROSPERO at two each.

Scanner user agents worth blocking: `zern-scanner (+https://zern.io)`, `FiveM-Public-Metadata/1.0`, `Mozilla/5.0 zgrab/0.x`, `libredtail-http`, `0day`, and `python-requests/2.31.0`. Request paths concentrate on `/info.json` (23 hits, all PROSPERO), `/` (12 hits), `/api/checkin` and `/images/transparentpix.gif` (3 hits each, both FLOKINET), and `/ws` (2 hits, PFCLOUD).

TLS and SSH fingerprints added this week: JA4 `t13i1909h2_9dc949149365_97f8aa674fd9` on 185.100.87.136 (FLOKINET), JA4 `t13i131000_f57a46bbacb6_f50d94e863eb` on 176.65.149.178 (PFCLOUD), and HASSH `e54ef3ec27fe1fea7ab64d3fa05359fd` on the same FLOKINET host. The full IP list, fingerprint list, and request-path list sit in the run data.
